Ash Leon is a Memphis-born Hip-Hop artist that is currently based in NYC. His flowery aesthetic and style are often described as eccentric and unconventional when compared to today’s Hip-Hop scene. Some of his musical influences include prominent artists such as Lupe Fiasco, The Black Eyed Peas, Prince, Incubus, and Queens of the Stone Age. Ash has performed at venues such as, The Wickham Tap and Germinal Room, while also modeling for Funkie House. His single, “Big Dipper Style”, was premiered by SPINSouthWest, an Ireland FM radio station. He has also been featured on music blogs such as; AFROPUNK, and podcasts such as Studio17TV.
As a non-binary artist, activism greatly impacts Ash’s lifestyle and artistry. His vision is to help redefine the culture of Hip-Hop by rejecting and speaking out against Misogynoir, Homophobia, Transphobia, and Hypermasculinity.
